Jonathan Coats, M.Ed. | Motivational Speaker

Mr. Jonathan Coats is an energetic educational leader with nearly 17 years of diverse experience within education. He is currently the Principal of Northwestern Elementary School in Zachary Community School District. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Southeastern Louisiana University (Go LIONS!) and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Southern University (Go JAGS!).

Mr. Coats was named a 2024 Great Futures Honoree with Club Blue Baton Rouge. He is also a member of Forum 225 and a graduate of the Barton Leadership Class of 2024! In 2025, Mr. Coats  at was honored with the Kathy L. Pittman Golden Roar Award at Southeastern Louisiana University for his impact within the community.

In addition to leading educational efforts, Mr. Coats enjoys motivational speaking, facilitating professional development sessions and traveling with his wife, Bianca.

Mr. Coats’ favorite quote is “the only place success comes before hard work is in the dictionary.”

He is the son of Pastor Milton and Mrs. Rose Coats of St. Francisville, Louisiana. He has one sister, Gabrielle.
